- ANIMALS
- In the humid conetinental, it contains a variety of organisms such as insects,
mammals, and reptiles. - The different types of mammals have different diets depending on their body size. There are small mammals like prairie dogs, skunks, raccoons, mice, birds, rabbits, and chipmunks. They consume grasses, flowers, fruits, nuts, insects, mice, smaller birds, and fish. Most of these animals live in burrows, or in trees.
- There are larger mammals such as bison, deer, horse, antelope, cayotes, wolves, bobcats, and cougars. They also consume grass, fruits, and fish. Their diet is different from others because they eat more animals than smaller animals like deer, rabbits, prairie dogs, and large birds. Some of the animals migrate like birds.
- Reptiles such as frogs, turtles, iguanas, snakes, alligators, crocodiles, lizards, and chameleons also live in the humid continental. Certain reptiles eat insects (exotic bugs, butterflies, spiders, crickets, worms, flies, ants, ladybugs, misquitos, bees, wasps, beetles, etc.) Crocodiles, alligators, and some snakes eat raccoons, snakes, birds, and turtles. The remaining lizards, iguanas, turtles, and chameleons eat grass.
- Most of the insects in the humid continental are butterflies, ants, beetles, dragonflies, moths, wasps, bees, crickets, spiders, caterpillars, flies, worms, etc. Insects like to eat other insects or drain the blood from other insects, but most of them eat plants. Insects will eat almost anything. They live underground, on top of ground, in trees, on leaves, or hidden in plants.
